Captured dive vessel Adventures on the high seas as FirstMate Leigh and his lovely Bosun Louise secretly capture the MV Orion off the Maldives. So secretly did they capture it that neither the crew or the owners ever found out it was captured and are still under the impression that they own it. Little do they know that it is now part of an ever expanding Sea Rovers fleet. HaHarr! And what about you other slackers. Yes you who left carrying the Sea Rovers flag, where be your conquest photos to display. Come on, have at it me hearties! Lets see those flags flying across the seven seas. Send us you pictures to display with pride. The Captain

Great video courtesy of Kathi and Niki who just went out hunting Critters in Mucky Pirates Bay and out at the Coral Bommie. Basically showing some of the wonderful things you can find when you dive with the Pirates who Dive. http://www.youtube.com/v/IVGmyHDN4JQ?autohide=1&version=3&autoplay=1&autohide=1&attribution_tag=gRflWNZGVMe8ZyG4fmo4mQ&feature=share&showinfo=1

I honestly thought my 15 seconds of fame was up after the Underwater Temple Garden debacle. Now our very own Pemuteran is and Menjangan Island are winging there way across the world. Well at least a very nice article with mention of us and a quote from yours truly (see below). Is now, even as I type winging its way to exotic locales as yet unexplored by most of us. "Even seasoned divers are often impressed by a dip into the shallow waters by the beach, says Paul Turley, owner of the Sea Rovers dive centre. “They emerge from the sea beaming from ear to ear, having just photographed a whole host of animals they’d previously seen only on National Geographic TV,” he says." Death of a Smugglers Wreck

Treasures come in all sizes Weeks ago I posted a story about a smugglers vessel that ran aground on a reef off Pemuteran. Well big swell and rains have done there work and bits of that once fine vessel are drifting around the coast. Or in the case of many larger pieces, being recycled by enterprising fishermen.

Pos 3, Menjangan Island At the back of Menjangan Island is Pos 3 a popular spot for snorkeling and the nearest access point to the main Temple at Menjangan Island. Next to the jetty at Pos 3 heading to the West is the Coral Gardens. Shallow water, beautiful corals, loads of fish. What more do you need.
Smugglers run aground or New Wreck in Pemuteran =D

Smugglers run aground A few days or more correctly nights ago smugglers ran afoul of Tankad Jaran , one of our local reefs. Story goes that once the crew realised they were well and truly stuck and taking on water, they basically scarpered. The vessel, a local wooden phinisi style cargo ship, common to the water of Indonesia was apparently carrying barrels of Solar (Diesel) to be sold offshore presumably to international vessels. The Ship has no license or paperwork so apparently no owner. Pol Air (or marine police), have already removed the cargo but could not remove the ship from the reef. Discussions are in process to make this a permanent and hopefully slightly deeper wreck Funnily enough Tankad Jaran is also home to the Canyon Wreck , another vessel that ran aground on the same feef many years ago and was later reclaimed and permanently sunk only a couple hundred meters away to the East. Tankad Jaran is also home to the BioWreck and Kuberan Kapal (Shi...
Going Solo (diving that is :-)

Just Me, My Camera and I The Captains going Solo. Who's not with me? Seriously though we'll be offering the chance to break free from the shackles of buddydom. How many times have you been on a dive trip and been given a buddy who is more of a liability than a buddy? How many times have you taken your camera out and wished you didn't have a buddy with you? Or been with a Photographer and had to hang around waiting for them to take the shot. The SDI Solo Diving course is about learning to be independent as much as its about diving on your own. There are many situations where having a buddy along just doesn't always work. What happens if you loose your buddy, are you prepared to take care of yourself? This is where the SDI Solo Diving course comes into its own (forgive the pun). Lets face it at one point or another, you will be diving alone, whether you want to or not.
