Sea Rovers Dive Bali

Couple of late afternoon photo's from Close Encounters reef in Pemuteran. Water was a bit hazy so lighting wasn't so great. Still couple of nice pics. Om' Swastiastu Bali being the Island of the Gods, demands lots of ceremonies that run in a eternal cycle. Just as in life what goes around, comes around and once again we find ourselves with 'Tumpek Landep'. A day for blessing all things metal and mecahnical. Which of course is just about everything in the Sea Rovers dive centre. So here is us, the piratical brethren, a motley assortment of Christian, Hindu and Muslim, all dressed in our temple best and ready to bless. Kairi Raudsepp, new to diving having completed her intro dive here with yours truly and now a new member of the Facebook Piratical Brethren site. Kairi send over a few memories of her time here with Sea Rovers. Been incredibly busy the last few weeks with high season in full swing, so not much time to take new pics. However I did get some nice shots early in July while night diving Mucky Pirates Bay. A not cunningly disquised Tiger Sole Sand Eel, usually you only ever see their heads pocking out of a hole in the sand. But this night we got to follow him as he hunted. Teeny Weeny Lionfish One of my favourite night time critters, a Spider Decorator Crab. And last but by no means least a very pretty Anemone. Another day of cold water (25C brrr..) and mucky vis in Secret Bay with dive buddy Kimmy More. No Frogfish this time but I did get a classic sea snake picture as it headed for the surface to get a breathe of fresh air. Mmm maybe I should wash my wetsuit :-) All in all two very long and one very lost (due to lousy vis, honest:-)dives. With plenty of stuff to be seen. The Captain Paul M Turley

Yesterday was a good day to pray Sabine and Katrin hanging out at the temple gates. Nice little Nudi rests in contemplation at the base of Buddha statue. Hairy lobster or crab, I forget. Vis was so so, with lots of large particles in the water but otherwise a great dive as usual. More photo's can be found on the new Facebook page Where I'm setting up albums for each of the divesites.
